Did You Suffer Losses Investing in Everest Group (EG)?
On October 28, 2026, a securities class action complaint was filed against Everest Group, Ltd. (“Everest Group” or the “Company”) (NYSE: EG) and certain Company executives in United States District Court for the Southern District of New York. The lawsuit was filed on behalf of investors who purchased or otherwise acquired Everest Group common stock between February 8, 2024, and October 27, 2025, inclusive (the “Class Period”).
What Does the Everest Group Class Action Allege?
According to the complaint, throughout the Class Period, Everest Group and certain executives made materially false or misleading statements about the Company’s U.S. casualty insurance business. Specifically, the complaint alleges that Everest Group 1) remained exposed to casualty risks affected by escalating claim costs, including business it had represented was reduced or exited; 2) inadequately priced portions of that business; and 3) maintained insufficient loss reserves, allegedly understating liabilities and expenses and overstating earnings. According to the complaint, addressing these problems required substantial reserve charges, protection against further losses, and reductions in casualty business.
The complaint alleges that Everest Group announced a $1.7 billion reserve charge in January 2025 and disclosed an additional $478 million in net unfavorable prior-year reserve development in October 2025.
Following the October 27, 2025 disclosures, Everest shares fell $39.07, or approximately 11.4%, closing at $304.91 on October 28, 2025.
December 28, 2026 Lead Plaintiff Deadline
Everest Group investors have until December 28, 2026 to move the Court to seek appointment as lead plaintiff. Investors do not need to seek appointment as lead plaintiff to remain a member of the proposed class.
